Info

We began the 1050 mile marathon at John o' Groats on Thursday 26 August 2010, aiming to complete the journey in less than four weeks. Indeed, we finished at Lands End on Friday 17th September - despite some extremely wet weather, mechanical problems and  physical issues along the way.

We are still raising money for Marie Curie Hospices: please give generously at www.justgiving.com/jogle-thelongway Or, you can buy one of the limited edition pin badges, suggested minimum donation £2. Contact Mark 0n 0044 7834 539685 or at mark.stokes59@btinternet.com to buy a badge.  As is always the case in our events, all of the money sponsored goes to the charity concerned.  We treat the 'ordeal' as a holiday(!) which we pay for out of our own pockets.

Day 5

After the ferry journey from Ullapool to Stornaway this morning, this afternoon and against a fierce head-wind we've cycled a further 36 miles from Stornaway (Isle of Lewis) to Tarbert (Isle of Harris) in the Outer Hebrides. Gorgeous sunshine today!

Robbo takes a break as they cross from Lewis into Harris.

Robbo enters Tarbert on the Isle of Harris after a gruelling 40 mile cycle from Stornoway.

Stokesy's penchant to be photographed at every county boundary is evidenced here on the border between Sutherland and Ross & Cromarty: no shops, pubs or tea-rooms for more than 50 miles!
